Icicle Creek Cabin

Set on a rocky bluff above Icicle Creek, this vacation cabin was designed in response to its harsh and remote location. The site, unapproachable in winter except by ski or snowmobile, is off-the-grid. The site is buffeted by the wind year round and the area is at risk of forest fires in the dry season. The cabin must also be protected from vandals when unoccupied.   The program called for an open kitchen, dining and living space, a private bedroom for the parents, a bunk room for their children and their children’s friends, and a shared bathroom. A covered outdoor space was also desired.
