The Museum of Flight is one of the largest air and space museums in the world, located in the south Seattle industrial corridor amongst the region's aircraft manufacturing facilities and adjacent to the County Airfield.

A growing collection of large commercial aircraft led the Museum to provide additional exhibit space on the opposite side of a busy traffic arterial, a site planned for extensive museum expansion. The challenge was to provide safe and convenient pedestrian flow for museum visitors crossing the street without leaving the museum experience.
